The Carolina Arts Festival is celebrating its third anniversary with our most exciting original concert event ever:"From Hair to Hairspray: A Generation of Rock Musicals" starring Terrence Mann, Alice Ripley, Brian d'Arcy James, Norm Lewis and Lillias White. The region's outstanding teen singing group, the Capital Ambassadors, will again perform in the concert. All of the young participants in the Festival's Triple Threat Workshops, offered June 14-19 through the Applause! Cary Youth Theatre, will also perform in the concert.

Presented this year as part of the annual Summerfest Series, the North Carolina Symphony joins the Broadway stars and our own rock band to bring you the music from the best of Broadway's rock musicals including songs from Hair, Cats, Rent, Superstar, Evita, Pippin, Fame, Grease, Footloose, Dreamgirls, Tommy, Aida, The Lion King, Hairspray and more! Ken Raskin will be conducting the North Carolina Symphony, while McCrae Hardy leads the Festival Rock Band.

The concert is Saturday, June 19, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. at the beautiful Amphitheater at Regency Park in Cary. Coolers and picnics are allowed. All tickets are $25 for adults, children under 12 are admitted free with adult.
